How a Between-Tenancy Lock Change Actually Works
Booking β 24hrs or Same Day
Ring or email with the address, which doors need changing, and who'll be there to provide access. For a standard 2β3 bed property, booking the day before or morning-of is usually fine. For multiple properties on the same day, a bit more notice helps with route planning.
On Site β Doors Changed and Tested
Arrive, change the front door cylinder, back door cylinder if applicable, and any communal-area locks. Each lock tested through five or six full cycles β lock, unlock, handle, key from both sides. Stiff or misaligned doors adjusted at the same time so the new lock operates cleanly.
Keys Handed Over
Typically three sets per property: one for the managing agent's office, two for the incoming tenant. If the agent isn't present, keys are handed to whoever is β tenant, landlord, or contractor. Additional sets available at the time of fitting.
Documentation and Invoice
